Fire Safety Awareness
ABOUT THIS COURSE
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 places a responsibility on all employers and business owners to provide employees with adequate fire safety training.
The Fire Safety Awareness course is a programme of learning delivered over a minimum of 3 hours and is designed to ensure employees have adequate knowledge to undertake their duties safely and effectively and support Fire Marshals who are actively carrying out their duties.
COURSE CONTENT
- Identify causes of fire in the workplace
- Understand basic fire science
- Outline simple control measures
- List actions in the event of fire
- Be able to select a suitable fire extinguisher

ASSESSMENT
This course has an ongoing assessment by the Instructor and a formal assessment process which includes a written assessment of fire safety knowledge
CERTIFICATION
On successful completion of this course the Employee will be issued with an Electronic Certificate (Card available for an extra cost) valid for 3 years from the date of completion.

Fire Marshal
ABOUT THIS COURSE
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 places a responsibility on all employers and business owners to provide employees with adequate fire safety training.
Additionally article 18 of the order places a requirement for the Responsible Person to appoint one or more ‘Competent Persons’ to assist with fire safety and emergency evacuations in the event of fire.
The Fire Marshall Course is a programme of learning delivered over a minimum of 4 hours and is designed to ensure the designated workplace fire warden or marshal has adequate knowledge to undertake their duties safely and effectively.
COURSE CONTENT
- Role of the fire marshal/warden
- Fire safety regulations and legislation
- Types and classifications of fire
- Common causes of fire in the workplace and identifying hazards
- Fire development, spread and travel
- Means of escape, protected escape routes and emergency lighting evacuation procedures and checks
- Liaison with the Fire Service
- Use of extinguishers and fire blankets
- Record keeping
The course has been designed to ensure every aspect is relevant to your specific workplace
